january CQJP entry

I think I have finished the block now,  the stump work bee did not materialise       could not find the book where I did it from in the past so added a bullion bee, some baby bees in french knots, and one charm bee.. Feel it still looks a bit bare in the top left hand corner but have submitted it as it is now.

I think it looks fine, Margaret, and the thing about leaving some spaces, is that you can always add more later, or do something when the blocks are put together to join them by adding something over the join. Can't do that if it's already full.

Yes, Susann ist right. --- I like the bees as they are. The baby bees are so cute and you did a good work. How nice to put that down here.

Well done for finishing Suzy is right never thought of leaving space for joining. I have left a comment on the cqjp.

I can only agree with what everyone else have said; fantastic block and leaving space IS the thing to do for 'after joining blocks embellishments. Well done, Margaret!

I love it! So cute! My idea for that upper corner would be to simply add some more bees on the seam and up into that space. It would help take your eye from the can to the bees then to the bottom seam in a curve that fully stops the eye from running off the block on the upper seam. Everyone else is right too though you could always wait till you join the blocks all together too. Either works. I love how flexible crazy quilting is!

The finished block has turned out lovely,I think it doesn't need any more work, once you make the other blocks and they eventually all connect together it will look great.

I adore your little bees on this block. Blissful Stitching...

Looks great. I think the variegation in the top corner fabric is enough to justify no more embellishment.

Your bees are perfect on this block. Your tatting fits much better in its new location. You've done a great job on your January block!
